The David Lynch Story
The Twin Peaks director was offered the role first; when he declined, Alex Hirsch took it on as 'a bad impression of him' and made something entirely new.
Reality Is an Illusion, Your Mic Is a Hologram
Bill Cipher Voice Changer
Bill Cipher is a dream demon in a triangle, and his voice is a one-of-a-kind invention: Alex Hirsch — Gravity Falls' creator — performs him with a raspy, singsong, game-show-host chaos that drops into a deep, guttural growl when he's genuinely angry. The role was first offered to David Lynch; when he passed, Hirsch stepped in with 'a bad impression of him' and accidentally created one of animation's most iconic villains. 'Reality is an illusion, the universe is a hologram, buy gold!' — now with a better sound system.
